Old enmity leads to acid victimization in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi district court west becomes the ground for acid victimization as the accused named Arif, accompanied by his brother, threw acid on Shahaab in a move to take revenge of old enmity, Geo News reported on Friday afternoon. The acid victim, Shahab was rushed to Civil Hospital whereas Arif was caught and shifted to City Court police station, whilst his brother managed to flee from the crime scene. Even though, heavy contingent of police were deployed in exit and entrance routes of the City court, the accused remained successful in bringing a jug full of acid at the court premises. Arif was inflicted with acid on his arm. According to him, Shahaab had threw acid on not only his brother but his sister-in-law as well, however no action was taken in this regard. The accused further said that Shahaab and his family are jewelers due to which acid was easily accessible to him. He continued on to say that Shahaab ruined his brother’s face therefore the scores were now even.
